Currently Reading:

I highly recommend this book. It's a really fascinating account of how globalization is affecting the way we do business and live our daily lives. I spent 2 hours at Starbucks today (how yuppish of me) reading it and I still can't put it down...my schoolwork is going to start suffering if I don't finish soon!

I've seen this in the bookstore and thought it looked interesting several times. I'm waiting for it to show up in my local shop used.

so funny story. i'm at the wsu vs baylor game in seattle doing recruiting for the school of communication. this couple comes by with their daughter, they're kind of looking around, look somewhat familiar, but i dismiss the notion that i know them in about half a nanosecond. so we're talking for about 10 minutes, the girl mentions she's still in high school and i ask where she goes:
girl: "stadium."
me: "oh awesome! i graduated from there. class of '03!"
girl's mother: "oh really?"
me: "yeah, i loved it there"
girl's mother: "did you happen to know MATT LINDEN?"
me: "oh my gosh, he's a good friend!"
girl's father: "we're his parents"

the next stage:
girl's mother: "oh my gosh, you went to that thing with matt"
me: "prom!"
girl's dad: "yeah, i thought you looked familiar"

then talk about how awkward it was that we didn't recognize each other, etc.

i was going to call you immedietly, but realized that i don't have your cell ## anymore! you should send that over.
