Reverse Culture Shock

The other night my parents and I were at a seafood restaurant in the pier in Seattle. I had ordered fish and chips and was enjoying this seafood treat I hadn't had in 6 months. At one point, my mom looked over at me with a puzzled expression and asked, "Matthew, why are you eating your french fries with your fork?"

Whoops.

i had a similar incident right when i got back home. we were eating dinner and my mom looked at me and asked "since when did you eat with your left hand?" somewhere in the course of living in germany i started using a fork with my left hand and the ever-present knife with the right one. i also have a nice website to recommend. i've wasted a lot of time on here already: Monk-e-Mail

I just can't do it, I love eating fries, but with a fork? Germans are crazy. I like eating with my hands, it is like a picnic all the time.
